The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is moving its headquarters to AmTrustRE's 250 Broadway property. The real estate owner announced this on Thursday. The new location is situated opposite City Hall Park in Manhattan's Financial District.
The TLC was previously located in another Financial District office, at 33 Beaver Street. In its new building, the Commission will occupy 39,000 square feet, spanning the entire fourth floor and part of the fifth floor. According to AmTrustRE, the space includes various private offices, conference rooms, and a hearing room for public proceedings. The authority is expected to move into 250 Broadway in the first quarter of 2027. The exact lease term and the requested rent were not disclosed. Data from Colliers indicates that the average asking rent for office space in the Financial District was $60.61 per square foot in the first quarter.
Attractive Location and High Occupancy
AmTrustRE was represented internally by Anne Holker, as well as by Brad Gerla, Michael Rizzo, and Alex Benisatto of CBRE. The tenant was represented by Gus Field of Cushman & Wakefield. The brokers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Anne Holker stated in a leasing announcement that the Financial District remains one of the most sought-after office markets in Downtown Manhattan. She emphasised that the leasing underscores the continued strong demand for high-quality work environments in the district. She welcomed the TLC to 250 Broadway, where the Commission joins a dynamic mix of public and private sector tenants. Building Occupancy Increases
With this deal, 250 Broadway, a 31-storey office building comprising 648,000 square feet, reaches an occupancy rate of 90 percent. Other tenants in the building include co-working company WeWork, law firm Rose & Rose, and scientific publisher IGI.
