Premier Inn, a British hotel brand, has secured a new location in Münster. The property will be part of the "Drei Schwestern" (Three Sisters) district ensemble on the Dortmund-Ems Canal. The planned hotel is being built in a central location between Münster's two city harbours and is intended to have 244 rooms across seven floors. Additionally, guests will have access to 74 parking spaces in the district's car park. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2029.
The location of the new Premier Inn Münster is characterised by its strategic positioning. Event venues such as Halle Münsterland and Jovel, as well as the city harbour, are within walking distance. The connection to Albersloher Weg and Hafengrenzweg near the B51 ensures good accessibility for both business travellers and tourists.
Location Factors and District Development
Chris-Norman Sauer, Managing Director Property Germany & Austria at Premier Inn, highlighted Münster's economic strength and tourist appeal, which qualifies the location as suitable for their network. He emphasised that the location at the city harbour represents a particularly attractive spot with high quality of stay and excellent connectivity. Premier Inn intends to offer its customary hotel experience there, combining comfort with excellent value for money.
Grimm Holding GmbH acts as the property owner. Elmar Grimm, Managing Director of the company, commented on the hotel's importance for Münster as a flagship for international visitors. He stressed that the investments contribute to the positive development of the harbour area and the city. The new Premier Inn Hotel is architecturally integrated into the overall appearance of the district ensemble.
The "Drei Schwestern" Ensemble
The "Drei Schwestern" is the result of a qualification process in which three different architectural firms designed independent but urbanistically coherent building structures. In addition to the Premier Inn, a Grimm's Hotel with a boarding house will expand the accommodation offerings in the area. A medical care centre is planned for the third building. This diversification of use underlines the multifunctional orientation of the new district.
