A development concept has been drawn up for the Wollhaus at the southern entrance to Heilbronn's pedestrian zone. The investor consortium, consisting of Neufeld Immobilien and Kilian Real Estate, is pursuing a revitalisation of the area with this concept.
The concept was presented in a non-public meeting before the Building, Environment and Culture Committee of the City of Heilbronn. Representatives of the investor group, including Christian Neufeld and Matthias Kilian, presented the plans personally. Mayor Harry Mergel stated that the city administration highlighted the positive aspects of the concept draft presented. He emphasised that the committee would endorse the administration's recommendation. Originally, the presentation was intended for a public meeting of the committees to allow for a broader discussion.
Substantive details of the development concept
The concept now presented is the result of intensive processing and adaptation, carried out in close coordination with the municipal departments. The aim was to develop an urbanistically integrated and economically viable project. The administration's original idea, according to which development should include retail space on the ground floor and flats on the upper floors, has been largely incorporated into the current plans.
Christian Neufeld and Matthias Kilian explained during the presentation that confidential work had been carried out on revising the draft in recent months. This was a response to criticism voiced about previous plans. The detailed review of the concept presented is to continue in the coming weeks to clarify all open points and create a sound basis for decision-making.
The development of the Wollhaus is important for the entire city centre of Heilbronn, as the property is located at a prominent urban planning position. A successful realignment can contribute to the attractiveness and functionality of the city centre.
