As part of a recent transaction, Rheinische Grundbesitz AG has acquired a commercial plot in Hilden spanning approximately 31,800 square metres. Real estate service provider CBRE acted as broker for this sale. The seller was Vion Hilden GmbH, which had vacated the site following the closure of its meat processing plant. The parties involved agreed not to disclose the terms of the purchase price.
This acquisition secures a significant industrial plot for Rheinische Grundbesitz AG, strategically located within the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. Plans envisage a new development that will offer space for up to three occupiers. The planned lettable area amounts to approximately 16,000 square metres, of which around 13,000 square metres are designed as hall space. The project will be developed according to multi-tenant usability criteria and will feature contemporary building equipment compliant with the requirements of the German Building Energy Act (GEG 40). Construction is scheduled to commence in mid-2027.
Strategic Importance and Letting Activities
The letting of the spaces will be handled by CBRE under a lead mandate. Imad El Akrouche, Team Leader NRW Industrial & Logistics Leasing at CBRE, emphasised the limited availability of such plots in established logistics locations like Hilden, alongside high demand. He highlighted the necessity of structured and cooperative transaction processes and noted a smooth and targeted execution in collaboration with Rheinische Grundbesitz AG.
Sarina Schekahn, Head of Industrial & Logistics Leasing Germany at CBRE, underscored the location advantages. The direct access to the A46 and A3 motorways provides optimal conditions for logistics and industrial companies. From Hilden, both the North Rhine-Westphalian market and national and international economic centres can be reached efficiently.
