The private sale of the Mocopinus GmbH & Co. KG operating site, approximately 67,000 m² in size, in Karlsruhe-Rheinhafen has been successfully completed. The acquirer of the area is an institutional investor who plans to develop the plot into a modern commercial and logistics centre after the takeover. The transaction represents a significant step towards satisfying creditors in the insolvency proceedings of Mocopinus GmbH & Co. KG.

Legal advice for Mocopinus GmbH & Co. KG during the sale process was provided by FINKENHOF. The company, known as a manufacturer of wooden facades and refined timber products, had filed for insolvency at the end of 2025. In early February 2026, the District Court of Ulm opened self-administration proceedings and appointed attorney Georg Jakob Stemshorn of PLUTA Rechtsanwälte as the insolvency administrator. Since the application was filed, FINKENHOF partner Stephan Strumpf has acted as the company's general authorised representative.

The sale of the operating site was conducted as part of a structured sales process using a dual-track procedure for the M&A process. Coordination of the marketing and sales process for the operating property was handled by Antje Mertig of Steinberg Real Estate. Concurrently, a team led by Jörg Leussink and Jens Bender from cf:M GmbH was responsible for the sales process of the Mocopinus GmbH & Co. KG business operations. Confidentiality was agreed upon regarding the financial terms of the transaction.

Comprehensive legal support for the transaction on the seller's side, particularly in the context of Mocopinus's self-administration, was ensured by FINKENHOF. This conclusion not only contributes to creditor satisfaction but also opens up a new economic perspective for the Karlsruhe-Rheinhafen site through the planned establishment of a logistics centre.

The transformation of the area into a modern commercial and logistics centre will strengthen Karlsruhe-Rheinhafen as an economic hub. This development creates potential for new jobs and modern infrastructure that meets the demands of the logistics industry. This underscores the site's attractiveness for investments in industrial and logistics real estate.
