The technology company syte, founded in 2021, has successfully closed a Series A funding round totalling EUR 9 million. syte offers a platform that combines various property and land data with analyses from its proprietary Artificial Intelligence (AI). This system enables stakeholders such as property developers, banks, and estate agents to assess development potential on land early on, clarify legal frameworks, and evaluate the economic viability of construction or renovation projects.

The funding round was led by amberra, the venturing studio of the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken Cooperative Financial Group. NRW.BANK also participated as a new investor. Existing investors, including the Schwarz Group companies, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), vent.io, and Vantage Value, reaffirmed their confidence in the company through a renewed capital injection.

Strategic Expansion and Technology Development

syte will use the capital raised to drive European expansion and strengthen its technological market leadership in automated land and property analysis. A key focus will be on automating the early planning phase of property developments, from assessing development potential and checking building regulations to conducting economic viability analyses. Matthias Zühlke, CEO of syte, explained that the current process of checking and evaluating land and existing properties consumes a great deal of time and money in the real estate and financial sectors. By digitising these processes, it is possible to determine which projects will be realised in Germany and Europe in the future.

syte thus addresses a critical bottleneck in the real estate industry. While high construction and financing costs can only be influenced to a limited extent, faster and data-driven preliminary checks help to identify suitable projects earlier and avoid planning errors. In the long term, syte aims to digitally map the entire process before the actual construction of a property. Mr. Zühlke highlighted that the new financing will enable further development of the technology and establish syte in Europe beyond the German market. He emphasised that amberra acts as a strong investor, understanding the relevance of reliable data in the property business and providing access to a network of hundreds of cooperative banks.

Björn Schmuck, Managing Director of amberra, underlined the high strategic importance of the property business for the cooperative financial group. He explained that syte makes the potential of land and buildings visible early on through AI, enabling banks to provide faster and data-driven advice. The use of the platform by cooperative banks in property sales and customer consulting demonstrates its tangible benefits. Johanna Antonie Tjaden-Schulte, member of the Management Board of NRW.BANK, added that syte demonstrates how Artificial Intelligence can transform established industries and make processes more efficient. She explained that NRW.BANK's involvement supports the further development and market launch of this technology, thereby fostering innovations that shape the economic landscape.

Market Relevance and Key Figures

syte helps clients assess land and existing properties early on. The platform shortens review processes that can take weeks in practice to just a few minutes. This creates reliable decision-making bases for new build projects or existing developments before time and capital are invested. syte is available across Germany and covers over 62 million properties. More than 200 customers use the platform for valuations, planning, and consulting, including assessing individual locations, reviewing investment decisions, analysing portfolios for renovation needs, and identifying funding opportunities. The company's annual recurring revenue (ARR) has doubled compared to the previous year. In 2025, syte was honoured with the PropTech of the Year Award for its innovation.
