Urban Partners has announced the appointment of Hilde Tonne and Jonathon Bond to its Board of Directors. These additions serve to strengthen the board's expertise, particularly in the areas of investment, asset management, institutional capital, technology and sustainable urban development. The new appointments reflect Urban Partners' strategic direction to systematically develop its own competencies, foster corporate growth and consolidate its position as a leading European investor in the urban development segment.
Mikkel Bülow-Lehnsby, Executive Chairman of Urban Partners, stated that the experience of Hilde Tonne and Jonathon Bond represented an excellent complement to the existing expertise in investment and urban solutions. Urban Partners aims to continuously expand these competencies to generate attractive returns for investors while developing improved solutions for cities. He highlighted that the new members, with their backgrounds in investment, institutional capital and urban infrastructure, enrich the Board with valuable perspectives as Urban Partners further solidifies its position as one of Europe's leading investors in urban areas.
Hilde Tonne brings extensive leadership experience with a focus on technology, energy, infrastructure and large-scale CAPEX investments. She currently serves as Non-Executive Chair of Arup Group and as Senior Advisor at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. Previously, she held positions as CEO of the Norwegian transmission system operator Statnett, as Chief Innovation Officer at Ramboll and as Executive Director at Telenor. Her activities encompassed the intersection of digital transformation, sustainable infrastructure development, industrial development, technology and institutional capital. Her experience in board work and her knowledge of the Nordic markets have been enhanced by her membership of supervisory boards such as Danske Bank, Vattenfall, Statkraft and the Research Council of Norway.
Jonathon Bond is an experienced investor and manager with decades of practice in private equity, asset management and corporate leadership. He co-founded and managed Actis Capital, an investment company specialising in sustainable investments. In the field of development finance and the private equity sector, he held leading positions with a focus on institutional capital. In this capacity, he was involved in establishing investment platforms, raising institutional capital and leading organisations focused on responsible investments. Prior to his time at Grosvenor as Chief Investment Officer, he served as chairman of family businesses and corporate groups.
The expanded composition of the Urban Partners Board of Directors now includes Executive Chairman Mikkel Bülow-Lehnsby, Vice Chairman Jim Hagemann Snabe, co-founder Rasmus Nørgaard, Morten Beck Jørgensen, Jonathon Bond and Hilde Tonne. Former Board member Celia Francis will continue to support Urban Partners in an advisory capacity.
