The Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) has successfully concluded the ADIS International Roadshow 2026 at EXPO REAL in Munich. The aim of this initiative is to strengthen infrastructure relations between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Germany, and to integrate German and European know-how, technologies, and implementation expertise into Abu Dhabi's infrastructure programme. The Roadshow serves as a direct continuation of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's state visit to Germany in September 2026, which marked the first state visit by a UAE President to Germany.
This state visit initiated a Strategic Dialogue to deepen the comprehensive partnership between the UAE and Germany in key areas such as trade, investment, technology, and transport. During the three-day roadshow, a delegation of over 40 representatives from Abu Dhabi, including the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA), and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), presented the Emirate's extensive infrastructure programme. This platform enabled direct networking between institutions responsible for planning, control, regulation, and private participation, with potential developers and implementation partners.
Strategic Partnerships and Defined Areas of Cooperation
A key outcome of the roadshow was the signing of five strategic Memoranda of Understanding by ADPIC. These agreements define clear frameworks for cooperation in the areas of digital project delivery, private sector participation, and intensive exchange with German industry. The agreement with Siemens AG focuses on exploring cooperation in digital project delivery, advanced technologies, modern construction methods, and low-carbon infrastructure approaches. The partnership with Partners Group aims to promote private sector participation and PPP (Public-Private Partnership) structures, as well as risk allocation within the infrastructure programme. With PATRIZIA, collaboration in the infrastructure and real assets segments will be deepened, including private equity models, financing, governance, ESG, and Green Financing.
The Memorandum of Understanding with HENN focuses on planning standards, master planning, urban development, climate-adapted design, BIM, and digital project delivery. Collaboration with the German-Emirati Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) aims to strengthen exchange with German industry through business initiation, dialogue, and knowledge transfer regarding PPP and Musataha structures. H. E. Eng. Maysarah Mahmoud Salim Eid, Director General of ADPIC, signed these agreements along with representatives of the partner companies. He emphasised that Abu Dhabi possesses the necessary scale, project pipeline, and institutional strength to implement the next phase of infrastructure growth. The value of the roadshow lies in translating international commitment into practical cooperation and connecting the programme with expert knowledge and capabilities that strengthen its implementation.
Connecting Capital Programme and International Expertise
The roadshow brought together Abu Dhabi's capital programme, which includes approximately 500 projects with a volume of over US$56 billion, with international expertise. The discussions focused on private investment opportunities, technology, innovation, and the long-term performance of real estate and infrastructure. The delegation conducted more than 100 targeted discussions with companies and government representatives from various countries and cities, including economic development organisations, infrastructure investors, engineering and architectural firms, construction companies, and technology companies.
High-level meetings with representatives from Baden-Württemberg International (BW_i), NRW Global Business, the Lord Mayor of Stuttgart, and HafenCity Hamburg created direct communication channels to German decision-makers at regional and urban development policy levels. Furthermore, discussions with companies such as OBERMEYER, GOLDBECK, and Gleeds linked Abu Dhabi's infrastructure requirements with specialised expertise in engineering, technology, construction, planning, real assets, and project implementation. These discussions focused on relevant fields such as digital project delivery, modern construction methods, planning quality, and the long-term performance of real estate and infrastructure, to translate visions into concrete projects and international partnerships into long-term value.
