Azimuth Development Group has transferred ownership of an educational facility in the East Bronx. The transaction appears to have been a bespoke development by the company. Guido Subotovsky, President of Azimuth, signed the deed of sale for the address 801 Bartholdi Street, valued at $54.5 million, to Equality Charter School. The non-profit public school will utilise the property as a 63,000 square foot elementary school, according to land records.

The property was apparently completed in 2025 and includes two cafeterias, a gymnasium, and 6,000 square feet of rooftop recreational space. According to Azimuth's website, the site can accommodate up to 900 students. The broker who arranged the deal is not known. Representatives for Azimuth and Equality Charter School did not comment upon request.

Background on Equality Charter School

Equality Charter School currently operates an elementary school at 3901 White Plains Road, a middle school at 4140 Hutchinson River Parkway East, and a high school at 2141 Seward Avenue, all in the Bronx. It is unclear whether the school administration will consolidate existing facilities into the new Bartholdi Street location.

Azimuth's Community Engagement

Azimuth was founded in 2009 by Guido Subotovsky and specialises in projects that benefit the local community, including the development of affordable housing as well as market-rate units. The company states that it has completed over 1 million square feet of mixed-use developments across New York City's five boroughs since its inception.

In the educational facilities sector, Azimuth has previously collaborated with Joy Construction on the $140 million development of two buildings with 330 rental units at 2069 Bruckner Boulevard. In this development, a 12,000 square foot space was leased to The Village School in June 2025.
