BBBank eG will operate an advisory centre at Neumarkt in Cologne, on the corner of Richmodstraße, starting in summer 2026. This is the result of a transaction brokered by the real estate experts at Greif & Contzen. Germany's largest cooperative retail bank is thus relocating its previous site on Domprobst-Ketzer-Straße. The new property offers expanded growth options and underscores BBBank's position as a leading cooperative bank for retail customers with nationwide advisory centres.

The new space comprises approximately 1,400 square metres and is spread across the ground floor, first floor and third floor. A service point, customer advisory areas and spaces for ATMs will be set up on the ground floor. The upper floors are earmarked for office space and the private banking division.

Site Development and Functionality

The lease was brokered by Greif & Contzen's retail team, with the spaces originating from a family office. The transformation of a former retail space into BBBank's advisory centre contributes to strengthening and upgrading Neumarkt as an inner-city area. The redevelopment underlines the bank's commitment to a visible presence in one of Cologne's central squares.

The concept for the new branch envisages an open meeting place that combines contemporary banking services with personal advice. This design makes a clear commitment to urban infrastructure. BBBank's presence in this prominent location is also intended to contribute to the revitalisation and footfall of Neumarkt. This solidifies the bank's position as a customer-oriented financial services provider in an urban environment. The development reflects a strategic decision that significantly improves accessibility and visibility for BBBank's retail customers in Cologne.

Real Estate Economic Significance

The transaction demonstrates the continued attractiveness of high-traffic city centre locations for financial service providers. BBBank's decision for such a central address signals an investment in physical customer advice and a move away from purely digital approaches at this specific location. For the family office's real estate portfolio, the long-term lease by a reputable bank represents stable value development. At the same time, the real estate experts at Greif & Contzen benefit from the successful placement of a space in a sought-after inner-city location, which underscores their expertise in brokering complex real estate projects.
