BIM Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH has announced with deep regret the death of its Managing Director, Birgit Möhring. Ms Möhring passed away on 15 August 2026 as a result of a serious illness. Her tenure as Managing Director for BIM began in March 2015. Throughout this period, she significantly co-determined and steered the company's fortunes, thereby exerting a lasting influence on the development of real estate management in Berlin.

However, her commitment to the state of Berlin's properties extended far beyond her time as sole Managing Director. From 2013 onwards, she already managed the affairs of Liegenschaftsfonds Berlin. Furthermore, she shaped BIM's development since its founding in 2003 as a member of the management board. In these various roles, she always championed the interests of the state-owned properties with great vigour and pronounced passion, making a significant contribution to the structuring and value development of the portfolio.

Recognition of Personality and Maintenance of Business Capability

With Birgit Möhring, the approximately 1,000 employees of BIM lose not only a strategically thinking and dedicated Managing Director, but also an exceptionally approachable, warm, and appreciative person. Her open manner, strong commitment, and high personal dedication decisively shaped the company. These qualities contributed to creating a work environment characterised by respect and mutual support, profoundly influencing the corporate culture.

State Secretary Wolfgang Schyrocki, Chairman of BIM's Supervisory Board, expressed his profound shock at the sudden death of Birgit Möhring. In a personal conversation with the authorised signatories, he conveyed his deep condolences and extended his thoughts to the deceased's family and the entire BIM team. State Secretary Schyrocki expressly emphasised that BIM's operational capability remains assured despite this severe loss. The Supervisory Board, in close consultation with the shareholder, will immediately take all necessary decisions to ensure the continuity of the management.

In addition to these developments, BIM's Supervisory Board had already initiated a restructuring of the management on 1 July 2026, conceived as a forward-looking measure. This decision was intended to strengthen the company's strategic direction for the coming years and set the course for further successful projects.
