In Ludwigsburg, groundwork for the Amberblick residential district has begun. The project, overseen by property developer Bonava, involves the construction of 91 owner-occupied flats and one commercial unit, distributed across five multi-family buildings. Additionally, 99 underground parking spaces will be created. Bonava received the building permit for this project at the end of last year, making it the first developer in this district to secure such a permit.

The start of the structural works is scheduled for summer 2026. Completion of the residential units, which will comprise two to four rooms, is anticipated from summer 2028. Bonava's project manager, Sabrina Dubronner, highlighted that the start of construction represents a significant milestone for the development of the Fuchshof residential park. She emphasised the unique nature of the Amberblick project, as it marks the first application of timber-hybrid construction. This building approach aims to enable the creation of attractive and future-proof homes in Ludwigsburg.

The Amberblick district is conceived as an integral part of the Fuchshof housing estate. The design places a strong emphasis on a traffic-calmed infrastructure, prioritising pedestrians and cyclists. The immediate proximity to a park, a school, a kindergarten, and sports facilities complements the surroundings. Within the district, a green inner courtyard, play areas, and communal meeting points are planned to foster interaction and neighbourliness.

The construction method is characterised by sustainability aspects. In addition to the aforementioned timber-hybrid construction, green façades, planted roofs, district heating supply, and solar power utilisation will be implemented. For families, the possibility of KfW funding for Efficiency House 55 offers a financial advantage in the form of a low-interest loan of up to EUR 100,000 per residential unit, which can facilitate financing and reduce long-term costs.

Bonava plans to mark the official start of construction with a groundbreaking ceremony on 9 July 2026 between 4 PM and 7 PM. Andrea Schwarz, the Head of Urban Development for the City of Ludwigsburg, will also attend this ceremony. Ms Schwarz expressed her satisfaction with the timely commencement of structural works in Fuchshof. She underscored the relevance of housing shortages as one of the most pressing social issues and stressed that the city administration is paying special attention to this aspect and welcomes the creation of every new home.
