In the Taubengrund industrial estate in Kelsterbach, near Frankfurt Airport, the achievement of significant construction progress for the "LogiSpace" new build was celebrated on 3 September 2026. Approximately 100 representatives from project partners, contractors, local politics, and economic development were present.
The property is being built on a 48,200 m² plot. Its location at Europe's largest air cargo hub and its immediate proximity to the Frankfurter Kreuz, with connections to the A3 and A5 motorways, is considered strategically outstanding. Completion and initial occupancy are anticipated for the first quarter of 2027, with areas still available for early interested parties. The multifunctional building is designed for logistics and light industrial uses.
Building Features and Sustainability Aspects
The new build comprises a hall area of more than 25,000 m², equipped with 27 ramps and 14 ground-level gates. Additionally, there are over 3,350 m² of gallery space and approximately 3,300 m² of office and social areas. Ample parking spaces for cars and lorries are also provided. The high-quality fit-out of the hall, office, gallery, and social areas allows for high flexibility and individual adaptation to user requirements.
The building's energy supply is planned to be resource-oriented. Heating and cooling are provided by heat pumps. A photovoltaic system with an output of 2 megawatts is intended to ensure self-sufficiency in electricity. The property aims for DGNB and WiredScore certifications, underscoring the focus on sustainable construction methods and digital infrastructure.
Project Development and Construction Progress
The construction project is being realised as a joint venture between Fraport Immobilienservice und -entwicklungs GmbH & Co. KG and MB Park Deutschland GmbH. Following the granting of planning permission at the end of 2025, earthworks began in January 2026, followed by structural work from March 2026. Jonas Friederich, Managing Director of LogiSpace GmbH & Co.KG, confirmed that construction was progressing as planned and announced the start of work on the floor slab for October. Interior fit-out and initial rough installations of the building services are being carried out concurrently with the ongoing trapezoidal sheeting and roof sealing work.
Jan Sieben, also Managing Director of LogiSpace GmbH & Co.KG, acknowledged the performance of the authorities involved, engineers, and craftsmen from the List Group, as well as their subcontractors. Manfred Ockel, Mayor of the City of Kelsterbach, emphasised in his speech the significance of the LogiSpace concept for sustainability in the logistics sector and the expansion of the local logistics landscape through new investments and business settlements.
