Deka Immobilien has mandated ECE with the management and leasing of the Neumarkt Galerie in Cologne. This appointment followed a preceding tender process and will come into effect on 1 January 2027. This new mandate continues and expands the long-standing cooperation between the two companies, which has already lasted for over two decades.
ECE will thus assume responsibility for a significant mixed-use property that holds a central position in Cologne city centre. The property is characterised by its versatile use, integrating retail spaces, office areas, and medical facilities, thereby requiring complex management.
Strategic Importance and Property Characteristics
The Neumarkt Galerie is strategically located in Cologne city centre. It is situated directly on Neumarkt and marks the beginning of Schildergasse, which is among Germany's most important shopping streets. The total usable area of the mixed-use property amounts to approximately 36,800 square metres.
In addition to around 40 retail shops, the gallery also includes modern office spaces and specific medical uses. A prominent medical tenant is the PAN Klinik. In the retail segment, Primark, Thalia, and dm are among the established anchor tenants who significantly contribute to the attractiveness and footfall of the location.
Joanna Fisher, CEO of ECE Marketplaces, commented on the takeover of management as another significant step in the existing collaboration with Deka Immobilien. She highlighted the trust placed in ECE and expressed the intention to leverage ECE's comprehensive management and leasing expertise for the successful further development of the versatile property. The continuous maintenance and strategic alignment of such inner-city mixed-use properties constitute a core focus of ECE's activities.
