FERI AG has expanded its internal decision-making structures within the investment division. Effective 1 July 2024, Dr. Wolfgang Baums will assume the newly created position of Deputy Chief Investment Officer (Deputy CIO). In this role, he will support the strategic development of the investment division alongside Dr. Marcel V. Lähn.
From 1 July 2026, Dr. Lähn will hold the dual function of CEO and CIO of FERI AG as designated Chief Executive Officer. The appointment of Dr. Baums is part of the company's long-term strategy to continuously optimise its investment approach and strengthen its global multi-asset strategy.
Dr. Lähn highlighted that since joining FERI, Dr. Baums has made a significant contribution to expanding the Investment Office and improving the investment approach. Closer collaboration in managing the global multi-asset strategy and the further integration of alternative investments will be the focus of the new structure. According to Dr. Lähn, these asset classes are increasingly gaining importance.
Focus on Private Markets and Broad Expertise
Dr. Wolfgang Baums emphasised FERI's objective to develop entrusted assets in a risk-adjusted and contemporary manner. He views private markets as a central component of modern asset allocation. Together with Dr. Lähn and the investment team, FERI's existing nine-asset-class investment strategy is to be continued and strengthened in the best interests of clients.
Dr. Baums, who has been with FERI for approximately three years, will continue to be responsible for the further development of FERI AG's global multi-asset strategy and the bundling and integration of investment research and asset management in his role as Executive Managing Director, Investment Office. He performs these duties alongside Carsten Hermann, the Executive Managing Director, Investment Management.

The 48-year-old, who holds a doctorate in business administration, brings extensive experience from leadership positions in the financial industry, including his role as Managing Director of Wealth Management at ODDO BHF and as Head of Products & Services at BNP Paribas Private Wealth Management. This underscores the expertise he brings to the new role.
