Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH, a German family equity company, has entered into an agreement to sell the majority shares in BauWatch. The buyers are investment firms Carlyle and CVC DIF. BauWatch specialises in technology-based security solutions and is considered the market leader in Europe in this segment.
The transaction stipulates that Haniel will retain a 10 per cent minority stake in BauWatch. The completion of the divestment is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected in the first quarter of 2027.
BauWatch: Technology for Infrastructure Protection
BauWatch is headquartered in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. The company provides technologically advanced security solutions for the protection of construction projects, critical infrastructures and other key facilities. Protected assets include, for example, power plants, substations and renewable energy installations.
BauWatch's service portfolio is based on a fully integrated security platform. This platform includes mobile video surveillance, AI-powered monitoring and a 24/7 alarm service. BauWatch is currently active in twelve European markets and operates more than 15,000 active surveillance systems.
