A property on the North Sea island of Amrum has been selected for the ninth edition of a dream home raffle. This is a thatched Frisian house, located in a historic island village. The property, whose total value is estimated at approximately EUR 1.9 million, features Scandinavian-inspired interior design. In addition to the house, the winner will receive a cash sum of EUR 50,000.
The detached Frisian house has a living and usable area of about 143 square metres. It is a ten-minute walk from the beach, sea and dune landscape. The property comprises five rooms across two floors, including an open-plan living area, three bedrooms, and a room that can be used as an office, all furnished in Scandinavian style. Two shower rooms complete the amenities.
The open and light-filled living and dining area is equipped with a fireplace open on three sides. The kitchen is presented in a country house style with a granite worktop and a Bora hob. A garden and a south-facing terrace extend the outdoor area of the property, which offers possibilities for individual use.
Social Commitment of the Raffle
Every purchase of a ticket for the dream home raffle is linked to supporting a charitable cause. The main charity partner for this ninth round is the German Heart Foundation e. V. The proceeds generated will benefit the project “Skipping Hearts – Skipping Ropes Make Schools”. This programme aims to teach children in a playful way about the importance of regular exercise, healthy heart function, and balanced nutrition. The focus is on skipping as a sporting activity to promote an active lifestyle.
Professor Dr. med. Thomas Voigtländer, Chairman of the German Heart Foundation e.V., stated that the foundations for a healthy heart are laid in childhood. He emphasised that the prevention project “Skipping Hearts” aims to inspire children early on to engage in exercise and an active lifestyle, and that support from the dream home raffle helps to reach even more schools and children. Luisa Haxel, Managing Director of the dream home raffle, described the Frisian house on Amrum as a place of longing, surrounded by the nature of the North Sea island such as dunes, beach, and Wadden Sea, embodying relaxation, closeness to nature, and deceleration. She highlighted that combining an exceptional prize with social engagement represents a core characteristic of the dream home raffle.
