Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH has announced the opening of a new office in Kyiv on 1 July 2026. This expansion represents a formal upgrade of the Ukraine Desk, which has been in operation since January 2023 and will now function as an independent office. Dr. Andreas Knaul, who successfully established and led the Ukraine Desk, will take over leadership of the new Kyiv office. The decision to establish a physical presence in the Ukrainian capital underscores Luther's commitment to the region and enables more intensive client support on site.
With this step, Luther expands its international presence to a total of twelve foreign locations, in addition to its 22 worldwide offices. The law firm intends to support clients even more directly in their business activities in Ukraine. This includes proactive preparation for potential economic growth, which is anticipated in the event of a ceasefire or peace agreement. The local presence in Kyiv, which has existed since April 2025, provides an operational base for this.

Since its establishment in January 2023 in Berlin, Luther's Ukraine Desk has supported numerous medium-sized companies in entering the Ukrainian market and advised on public procurement issues. The team, consisting of German and Ukrainian lawyers, works both from Germany and directly in Kyiv.
