T
he iconic Dawson's Creek home is up for sale with a starting bid of $25,000. However, the buyer will have to relocate the entire house from its waterfront location in Wilmington, North Carolina, as the land is not included in the sale. Auctioned by Luther Bros Auction LLC, the listing notes that the property is being sold as "personal property," meaning the buyer must organize and pay for the move.
The three-bedroom, four-bathroom home has been a residence since 2003 and was featured prominently on the hit TV show Dawson's Creek. The property owner relocated it to the left side of their 2.39-acre property a few years ago to build another residence. Real estate agent Chris Luther said that while he and the property owner were unsure if selling the home without the land would be viable, they decided to list it anyway.
The buyer will have the opportunity to preview the home on four occasions before the auction finalizes on March 21 at 5pm. Once sold, the buyer must pay in cash and move the home within 30 days. Luther said that the home is still consistent with its appearance on the show, with minor updates over time.
"This charming waterfront home holds a special place in pop culture," Luther said. "If someone wants to make it an Airbnb or live out of it, there are many uses for this unique historic home." The auction will span over a month, giving prospective buyers ample opportunity to bid on the iconic property.
