he Block judges were blown away by the bathroom renovation of Mat and Robby, a duo of renovation novices from South Australia. Their handiwork impressed all three judges - Darren Palmer, Shaynna Blaze, and Marty Fox - who praised their latte-coloured walls, impeccable tiling work, and clever use of space.

    "This is the Goldilocks room," Darren exclaimed. "It's everything we've seen in other rooms, working extremely well together." Marty added that it was some of the best work he'd seen in a single week.

    Mat and Robby's win wasn't just about aesthetics; they also got the all-important details right, including horizontal towel rails and a vanity installed at the perfect height. Their neighbours, Alicia and Sonny, fell short with their too-tall vanity and vertical towel rails, but received praise for their chocolate-hued bathroom.

    Sonny and Alicia's budgeting skills paid off, netting them $10,000 in savings compared to Mat and Robby. However, their finishing touches were lacking, particularly when it came to the horizontal towel rails that the judges deemed essential.

    Can and Tan also showed promise with their penny-pinching, but Han's refusal to scale back her ambitious tiling plan ultimately led to their downfall. Despite Foreman Dan's warnings, Han persisted with the elaborate design, which left them with a significant amount of unfinished work when the judges arrived.

    The judges' feedback was tough for Han and Can to swallow, particularly when it came to criticism of their brass fittings and curved doorway. Marty felt that the design didn't suit the property's flat roof, while Darren urged them to get moodier in their aesthetic choices.

    Shaynna suggested that Han and Can had missed an opportunity by not embracing the exterior of House Two, which she believed could have inspired a more cohesive design. The judges ultimately awarded Mat and Robby 26.5 points for their winning bathroom, with Sonny and Alicia coming in second at 25.5 points.
