A
north San Jose building featuring a data center has been acquired by Overton Moore Properties for $9.5 million. The sale, facilitated through an affiliate, was recorded on December 20 with the Santa Clara County Recorder's Office. Digital Realty, a prominent player in data centers, sold the property to the Overton Moore affiliate.
The 130,800-square-foot building, constructed in 1985, is now under new ownership. It remains unclear if upgrades or redevelopment plans are in store for the site. Data centers have become increasingly attractive investments due to rising demand for cloud, network, and artificial intelligence services.
In downtown San Jose, a separate development project aims to build thousands of eco-friendly homes adjacent to data centers. The initiative, led by Westbank, PG&E, and city officials, will utilize surplus heat from nearby data centers to power the housing towers. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025.
