he Council of Multiple Listing Services (CMLS) has appointed Rene Galicia as its new chief operating officer. As a seasoned MLS veteran and attorney, Galicia will oversee key strategic initiatives and help members navigate complex landscapes while promoting transparency, efficiency, and pro-competitive practices. He joins CMLS from Bright MLS, where he served as EVP of Policy Counsel & Strategic Partnerships.
Galicia's extensive experience in MLS policy, operational excellence, and his passion for advancing the industry make him a strong fit to drive CMLS's mission of fostering a healthy real estate marketplace. His focus will be on strengthening CMLS's position as the engine behind a fair, transparent, efficient housing market.
Meanwhile, Bright MLS has activated its data share with CVR MLS, making listings data available to members of both organizations. This partnership reflects Bright's commitment to optimizing the MLS experience for subscribers and expanding their reach while retaining autonomy. Additional partnerships are in the works, including one with Williamsburg MLS expected to be finalized later this summer.
