DOGE terminates Louisiana leases, claims over $800K in savings

DOGE claims to have terminated numerous federal agency leases in Louisiana, citing specific properties.

he Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, claims to have terminated 748 real estate leases across the US, totaling approximately 9.6 million square feet and $660 million in savings. Along with these lease terminations, DOGE has also canceled 2,334 contracts and 3,489 grants. The agency's "Wall of Receipts" lists all terminated leases, contracts, and grants, as well as the claimed savings.

    DOGE estimates that its contract, lease, and grant cancellations account for around 30% of its total alleged savings of $105 billion. In Louisiana, seven real estate leases have been terminated, totaling 29,335 square feet and $806,233 in savings.

    The terminated leases in Louisiana were all locations of various federal agencies operating in the state. The affected agencies include:
