Equestrian Excellence: A Showcase of Horses & Riders at the Hampton Classic

Bridgehampton's Equestrian Extravaganza: Real Estate Moguls Shine at the Classic

T
he Hampton Classic Horse Show is a significant event in the world of equestrian sports, attracting high society and companies looking to impress VIPs. This year's event took place from August 25th to September 1st, culminating in the $400,000 Longines Grand Prix. Notable attendees included billionaire Barry Sternlicht's daughter Adrienne Sternlicht and Michael Bloomberg's daughter Georgina Bloomberg, both as competitors and spectators. Bill Gates' daughter Jennifer Gates watched as her husband Nayel Nassar competed, while she announced her second pregnancy in June.

The event has become a platform for real estate agents and brokerage executives to network and showcase their luxury offerings. Corporate sponsorships and VIP tables starting at $35,000 were available for those looking to mingle with deep pockets. Table decoration was a competition in itself, with VIPs spending thousands on floral arrangements, linens, glassware, and dishes.

Douglas Elliman decked out its tables with calla lily bouquets, gold cutlery, and branded canvas totes as goody bags for its attendees. The firm's tables were revolving doors of its top agents, including Enzo Morabito, Noble Black, and Frances Katzen. Maria Mendelsohn, Elliman's top agent in the equestrian village of Wellington, competed in two jumping events with her horse, Gerben.

Fashion at the show's last day was as impressive as ever, with attendees sporting designer loafers, polos, sport coats, and white pants. The air was filled with expensive cologne and perfume, adding to the luxurious atmosphere. German rider Rene Dittmer and his steed, Corsica, took home first place in the $400,000 Longines Grand Prix, followed by Americans Mimi Gochman and Alex Matz.
