$34.5 million mansion in Highland Park, Texas, has hit the market, making it one of the most expensive homes for sale in the state. Located at 4400 Belmont Place, the 13,696-square-foot Spanish revival and Mediterranean-style home was designed to evoke the charm of Highland Park in the 1920s.

    Developer Blair Pogue, a native of Highland Park, aimed to create a house that would contribute to the neighborhood's architectural landscape. "He wanted to specifically design a home that would enhance the area," said Douglas Newby, the real estate agent for the property. The home sits on a rare one-acre lot, one of only 36 in the neighborhood.

    The mansion features five bedrooms, including a primary bedroom with a sitting room and marble fireplace. Three of the four second-floor bedrooms have their own balconies. The kitchen boasts high-end finishes, including Moroccan artisan tile and Calcutta marble. A porte-cochere entrance leads to lockers, a powder bathroom, service kitchen, butler's pantry, and staff stairs.

    The first floor includes a library with a view of the front of the house, while the second floor has a playroom at the back. The lower level features a fitness room, wine cellar, tasting room, and lounge bars. The backyard boasts a loggia, pool, open-air pool house, and garden. A private entrance off Armstrong Parkway leads to a motor court with four garage bays and a guest apartment above.

    The home's architecture and interior design blend historical and modern elements, providing a unique Spanish revival feel in a neighborhood dominated by Georgian and Colonial homes. "This home has all the advantages of a historic home and all the freshness and luxury of a brand new home," Newby said. Pogue originally purchased the lot for $9 million in 2021 before breaking ground in 2022, with construction taking nearly four years to complete.
