Enjoying dynamic work with variety and handling multiple tasks.

J
ames Hill is a whirlwind of activity, juggling multiple roles with ease. He's the director of the Center for Real Estate at TCU's Neeley School of Business, where he cultivates partnerships between the university and the real estate industry. He also teaches courses like real estate finance and investments, which he thoroughly enjoys.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Hill is a principal of James Hill Consulting, offering real estate and corporate finance advice, as well as strategic planning for businesses, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals. His expertise has earned him a reputation as a go-to advisor in the industry.

Hill's public service commitments are equally impressive. He serves on the Tarrant Regional Water District Board, one of Texas' largest water suppliers, where he helps navigate the complex issues surrounding water infrastructure and management. This role requires strategic planning, innovative solutions, and a deep understanding of regional economic conditions.

As a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas board, Hill contributes to monetary policy discussions and provides oversight on corporate governance and internal auditing. He also reports on regional and national economic conditions, offering insights into factors like employment, inflation, and consumer spending.

Hill's responsibilities include producing the "Beige Book," an informal report that summarizes economic conditions across the 12 Federal Reserve Districts. His most recent report focused on the film industry in North Texas, which has seen significant growth with the addition of 16 production houses in the region.

With a background in finance and banking spanning nearly 20 years, Hill's experience is unparalleled. He's worked for debt funds, private banks, and holding companies, including a stint as government affairs director at Texas Capital. His next venture remains unclear, but one thing is certain – he'll continue to be involved in the community, meeting people and driving positive change.

"I like being involved," Hill says. "Part of it is I like to meet people. That's just my personality."
