Wealth manager Patrick Bet-David acquires Broward property for $25M

Patrick Bet-David's company acquires Fort Lauderdale office building and airplane hangar for $25M.

P
atrick Bet-David and his partners have acquired a significant asset in Fort Lauderdale after purchasing a $25 million office building and airplane hangar through a bankruptcy sale. The 10.7-acre property at 1200 and 1400 Northwest 62nd Street includes a 20,150-square-foot office building, an 18,048-square-foot private hangar with a two-bedroom apartment, and was completed in 1983. Bet-David, a well-known author and social media influencer with over 10 million followers, has been expanding his presence in the city.

The property had changed hands several times before being acquired by Bet-David's entity, which includes his wife Jennifer and partners Thomas Ellsworth and Carvajal Samuel. The previous owner, Cypress Creek Florida, an affiliate of First Choice Laboratory, paid $10 million for the site in 2003. However, the company defaulted on a mortgage, leading to a foreclosure lawsuit filed by a Delaware lender that had loaned $11.4 million.

A settlement was reached between the lender and the liquidating trustee, B. Riley Advisory Services, which allowed the sale of the property and payoff of the mortgage. Bet-David's entity acquired the property for $25 million, marking a significant investment in the city. This deal comes on the heels of another recent commercial transaction in Fort Lauderdale, where Citrix sold its headquarters complex to an entity tied to Maksim Slyusarchuk for $37 million.

In June, Related Group, BH Group, and Pebb Enterprises paid $48.5 million for The Quay at 17th Street, a 7-acre mixed-use site that includes a shopping center, office building, and yacht marina. Bet-David's acquisition of the office building and hangar marks another significant investment in Fort Lauderdale, where he has been expanding his presence since moving to the city in 2021 with his wife.
