yndon Wiggins faces trial for allegedly orchestrating the 2019 kidnapping and murder of Minneapolis realtor Monique Baugh. His defense counsel summoned former inmate Berry Davis to testify. Davis, already serving a sentence for the same crime, insists he was innocent and absent from the scene, despite evidence suggesting otherwise.
During cross‑examination, prosecutors pressed Davis hard, seeking a confession. He remained steadfast, denying involvement. In re‑examination, Davis admitted he was present when Baugh was killed, witnessed Cedric Barry—also convicted—point a gun at her and shoot her. He further confessed to driving the U‑Haul truck that transported Baugh’s body, contradicting earlier statements that he had not driven it. When called a liar, Davis admitted he had lied under oath.
Davis recounted meeting Wiggins in prison, their later reunion after release, and their shared drug dealings that forged a friendship. He maintains Wiggins never hired him for the kidnapping, arguing their relationship was too weak for such trust. Wiggins denies any link to the murder, yet prosecutors presented phone transcripts of a jail‑room conversation between the two, during which they allegedly discussed the case.
Prosecutors also showed a Walmart video clip capturing Davis purchasing bleach, ammonia, walkie‑talkies, and a tent two days before Baugh’s death. They argue these items were used to clean the body. The defense will resume arguments Thursday morning. The trial is projected to conclude by week’s end or early next week.
