Odyssey Hotel Group (OHG) has concluded Hotel Management Agreements (HMAs) for four significant hotels in German metropolitan regions. These hotels are part of the portfolio of Covivio, a European real estate company owning over 280 hotels across Europe. The agreements represent a significant step in OHG's growth strategy and solidify the company's position as a hospitality management platform for institutional hotel owners in Europe.
This transaction increases Odyssey Hotel Group's portfolio from approximately 4,200 to more than 5,400 rooms. At the same time, meeting and event capacity will expand by over 6,500 sq m in prime properties. The share of the premium segment within the total portfolio of operated rooms will rise to nearly half. For Odyssey, the collaboration with Covivio marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with a significant market player in the DACH region and in Europe.
Gonzalo Carpintero Navarro, CEO of Odyssey Hotel Group, stated that this collaboration is a decisive milestone in the company's development. He emphasised OHG's establishment as a hotel operator and development partner, further underscoring its new role as a professional hotel manager trusted by leading institutional owners. Navarro expressed delight at Covivio's confidence and the expectation of creating long-term value for owners, brand partners, teams, and guests. He highlighted that with over 5,400 rooms now under management, a new growth phase for the company is beginning.
Bernardo Lazcano, Managing Director of ActivumSG, commented on the strategic relevance of the partnership between OHG and Covivio. He explained that this acquisition goes beyond a mere expansion of Odyssey's hotel portfolio. It underlines the Odyssey Hotel Group's strategic ambition to strengthen its position as a leading third-party hotel manager operating complex hotel properties on behalf of institutional investors and real estate owners under long-term Hotel Management Agreements.
Lazcano pointed out that in view of the ongoing transformation in the hospitality sector, owners are increasingly seeking experienced operating partners. These partners must be capable of enhancing the performance of their hotels, sustainably maximising property value, and successfully managing the growing complexity of modern hotel operations. He stressed that with this transaction, Odyssey Hotel Group is once again demonstrating its ability to deliver these services even on a large scale. The acquisition, structuring, and negotiation leading to the successful conclusion of the agreement were handled by the Odyssey Hotel Group's Development & Asset Management team.
