Siemens has made a strategic investment and entered into an exclusive partnership with Skeleton Technologies. This collaboration aims to significantly expand Siemens' portfolio in the data centre sector and strengthen its presence in the electrical infrastructure market. The partnership underscores the continuous development of Siemens' offerings in a dynamic market environment.

Skeleton Technologies specialises in the development and production of high-performance energy storage systems. These systems are based on supercapacitors and are designed to effectively absorb short-term power peaks and enable efficient peak shaving. This technology is becoming increasingly important for the stability and efficiency of energy supply, particularly in energy-intensive environments such as data centres.

Expansion of data centre infrastructure

By integrating Skeleton Technologies' supercapacitor technology, Siemens is adding a powerful component to its existing portfolio in electrical infrastructure. This expansion enables Siemens to meet the growing demands of the data centre market even more comprehensively. Siemens is positioning itself as a leading technology company that supports customers along the entire value chain of data centres – from grid connection to equipping the so-called white space.

The collaboration with Skeleton Technologies is not new. Siemens has already been a technology partner for Skeleton Technologies since 2022. This existing relationship was further deepened in 2023 with participation as an investor. This development signals a strategic focus on expanding the infrastructure for Artificial Intelligence (AI), in which Siemens is continuously strengthening its role. Nine of the ten largest data centre operators worldwide currently rely on Siemens' expertise, which underlines the importance of this expansion.

The strategic investment and exclusive partnership are therefore to be understood as consistent steps that will sustainably strengthen Siemens' position in the data centre and AI infrastructure market. The focus on innovative energy storage solutions demonstrates a forward-looking adaptation to the technological and energetic requirements of the digital economy.
