The housing company Vonovia is carrying out extensive modernisation measures at a housing estate located at Schillerstraße 28 to 50 in Mühldorf. The total investment amounts to approximately EUR 2.8 million and aims for energy efficiency upgrades as well as a general enhancement of the property.

The planned measures primarily involve improving energy efficiency. These include thermal insulation of the basement ceiling and the roof, as well as the installation of modern, thermally insulated windows in the stairwells and flats. Furthermore, new entrance doors will be installed. A hydraulic balancing of the heating system is also intended to ensure an even and efficient heat distribution throughout the building. These steps are designed to reduce residents' energy consumption, thereby contributing to both climate protection and the stabilisation of utility costs.

To increase living comfort and quality of life, French balconies will be retrofitted to individual flats that previously lacked outdoor spaces. These features allow for increased natural light and improved ventilation through floor-to-ceiling windows. In addition, electrical sockets will be installed on all balconies throughout the estate, facilitating the use of lighting and the installation of balcony power plants. New tenant gardens on the ground floor complement this approach, creating additional quality of stay in the outdoor areas.

In parallel with the modernisation work, Vonovia is undertaking various maintenance measures. Gutters, downpipes, and exterior lighting will be renewed. The building façades and stairwells will receive a fresh coat of paint. Furthermore, letterbox, doorbell, and intercom systems will be modernised, and roller shutters replaced. The walls and entrance gates of two garage facilities will also be repaired.

Robert Stellmach, Vonovia's Regional Head for Bavaria, emphasised that the investment in energy efficiency not only protects the environment but particularly benefits tenants. He stated that they would profit from reduced energy consumption and enhanced living comfort, such as more pleasant room temperatures, thanks to improved insulation and modern technology. Vinzent Schneider, Vonovia's Regional Head for North Bavaria, highlighted that the modernisation represents a crucial component for greater climate protection in Mühldorf, and that renewing details such as letterboxes or doorbells improves the appearance of the estate and the quality of living.

The building sector is responsible for a significant proportion of CO2 emissions in Germany. The energy improvements implemented here contribute significantly to saving heating energy. During the construction phase, temporary disturbances due to noise or dust may occur. Affected tenants will be financially compensated for this. This investment continues Vonovia's climate protection-oriented measures in Mühldorf, where the housing estate has already been equipped with a photovoltaic system. Vonovia owns over 230 flats in Mühldorf, making it a relevant player in the local housing market.
