Wüstenrot Haus- und Städtebau GmbH (WHS) has received a DGNB Platinum certification in the "Buildings in Operation" usage profile for its company building in Ludwigsburg. The award was granted under the 2026 system version of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), making this building the first certified property under this new version. The WHS location at Hohenzollernstraße 14 thus achieved the highest possible rating level.
The company building, completed in 2023, encompasses a usable area of 4,413 square metres. WHS moved into its new corporate headquarters in Ludwigsburg in autumn 2023. The overall achievement level within the certification process was 84.3 per cent. The audit result was independently evaluated by the DGNB certification body and confirmed across all relevant criteria.
Internal expertise in the certification process
The certification process was managed by WHS's in-house sustainability team. This team applied its expertise directly at its own site, which led to the successful attainment of the Platinum certification. Marcus Ziemer, Managing Director of WHS, commented on the significance of this award. He emphasised that the Platinum certification confirms the high quality of the building in operation.
Mr Ziemer further explained that it is important for the company to demonstrate its own competence not only in client projects but also at its own premises. The result is also an acknowledgement of the work of the WHS sustainability team. The official handover of the certificate and plaque is scheduled for 15 October 2026 at the DGNB in Stuttgart.
