At the German Property Managers' Day 2026 in Berlin on 17 September, VDIV Germany announced the winners of the 'Property Management Company of the Year 2026' award. The honour recognises companies that provide impetus for the industry's development beyond their day-to-day business. The selection was made without thematic specifications, which underlines the diversity of the awarded approaches.

Hausverwaltung Sägmühle GmbH secured first place, followed by HEV Haus und Eigentum Verwaltung Stuttgart GmbH in second place and Reos GmbH in third place. The awards each included a trophy, prize money, a certificate, and a professionally produced corporate film documenting the winners' achievements.

Innovations in Management and District Development

Hausverwaltung Sägmühle GmbH impressed the jury with the development of a multi-generational district on a former barracks site. This project is characterised by self-organised resident structures and inclusive housing options. Noteworthy is the underground car park with intelligent charging management for 443 parking spaces, while the personal on-site contact person remains available to residents. This model illustrates a forward-looking, community-building property management approach.

HEV Haus und Eigentum Verwaltung Stuttgart GmbH addresses the shortage of skilled workers by deploying a proprietary artificial intelligence. This AI has over 250 functions and allows career changers to independently take on tasks after approximately two months, for which previously nine to twelve months of training were required. This innovative use of technology optimises onboarding processes and increases efficiency.

Reos GmbH, which took third place, implemented a fully digital tenant cycle. This integrates marketing, contract creation, access control, and building technology via a central system level. This end-to-end digitalisation optimises processes and offers an efficient solution for managing rental properties.

Special Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit

For the first time, VDIV Germany awarded the special prize 'Newcomer of the Year' for management companies with a market presence of a maximum of three years. This prize recognises entrepreneurial spirit and innovative business models. The award went to SeeGrund Hausverwaltung GmbH, which has been operational since April 2026. The company has tailored its offerings specifically to the requirements of the Tegernsee Valley. This includes managing properties for absent second-home owners and enabling digital owner meetings for owners living abroad, which highlights the company's local expertise.

VDIV President Sylvia Pruß stated that this year's award winners showcase the diverse expressions of creative power within the industry. This ranges from social engagement in the neighbourhood to the strategic use of AI and entirely digital rental processes. She emphasised that the newly introduced Newcomer Award makes young companies with fresh ideas visible, who provide important impulses for the future of the industry. With 1,600 participants and 150 exhibiting companies, the German Property Managers' Day is considered the most important industry congress for property management companies in Germany.
