Real estate investment firm SkyREM has successfully completed a refinancing of $101.8 million for a 1.9 million square foot industrial portfolio on the American East Coast. CIBC provided the secured financing, which includes an initial term of three years with two one-year extension options. JLL Capital Markets arranged the transaction on behalf of SkyREM. Peter Rotchford, Steven Binswanger and Lucas Borges from JLL were involved.
Alexander Dembitzer, CEO of SkyREM, commented that this financing reflects the strength of the portfolio and creates additional flexibility to continue investing in well-located industrial assets where compelling long-term value is seen.
Portfolio Details and Company Background
The industrial portfolio comprises four properties and, according to JLL, is 100 per cent occupied by six tenants. The East Coast properties are located in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina and serve various uses, including warehousing, manufacturing and e-commerce.
SkyREM, with offices in New York City and Philadelphia, owns and operates 30 properties within a primarily industrial US portfolio, according to its own website. The company's major tenants include well-known names such as Lockheed Martin, FedEx, Amazon and Shein.
Current Developments at SkyREM
The company most recently acquired a 325,334 square foot manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona, as stated in a press release from January. In early 2025, the firm secured $170 million in refinancing for a portfolio of ten buildings with a total area of 2.5 million square feet. This loan was provided by affiliates of Apollo and also arranged by JLL.
