Hilton has announced the strategic transformation of the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya and the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya into all-inclusive resorts. This move expands the company's all-inclusive portfolio in the luxury segment along Mexico's Caribbean coast. The repositioning aims to meet the evolving preferences of affluent travellers who seek a combination of comfort, personalisation, and uncompromising quality.
Effective immediately, the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will offer an elevated all-inclusive experience. This resort focuses on beachfront privacy and the spirit of modern Mexico to ensure an effortless and personal stay. The Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya, in parallel, is evolving into a multi-generational retreat that brings the essence of Tulum to life through discovery and indulgence.
Specialisation and Resort Alignment
From 10 January 2027, the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will operate as an adults-only resort for guests aged 18 and over. It caters to an audience that values privacy, anticipatory service, chef-led culinary experiences, and an intimate beachfront ambience. A personal concierge service is planned to tailor each guest's individual journey, anticipate preferences, and coordinate all aspects of their stay.
The Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya, on the other hand, will retain its multi-generational approach. Within this resort, the Ceiba Club will offer an exclusive area for guests aged 18 and over. The Conrad Tulum aims to appeal to travellers of all generations who value discovery and diverse culinary choices. Both resorts are intended to make the all-inclusive offering for luxury travellers transparent and accessible.
Growing Market for Luxury All-Inclusive
The expansion into the luxury all-inclusive segment reflects a fundamental shift in the perception of luxury. Modern travellers are increasingly seeking simplicity, personalisation, and high quality, without having to make continuous purchasing decisions during their stay. They desire complete immersion in the destination. Sylvia Scholey, Vice President & Global Head All-Inclusive and Resorts at Hilton, emphasised that this expansion allows guests a more personal way to stay and experience culture, supported by Hilton's renowned service and hospitality. This underscores Hilton's belief that the luxury all-inclusive sector has evolved far beyond traditional definitions, towards exceptional gastronomy, tailored experiences, wellness offerings, and highly personalised service.
The Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya will offer a range of curated experiences encompassing wellness, culture, gastronomy, and creativity. These include, for example, beachfront yoga, Mayan breathwork, local artisan ateliers, agave discovery tours, and chef-led gastronomy. Culinary highlights include live-fire cooking, a Mexican cheese trolley, tableside carving service, Mesa de Maíz, and a signature breakfast. These offerings are designed to create an individual and thoughtful stay that aligns with guests' personal interests.
