A recent study reveals that the majority of estate agents in the United Kingdom primarily use Artificial Intelligence (AI) for administrative tasks, particularly in the creation of property descriptions. The study's findings are based on a survey of 250 real estate and letting agencies and point to a selective implementation of AI technologies within the sector.

Two-thirds of the surveyed estate agents stated that they use AI tools for writing property descriptions. This application enables more efficient and often standardised creation of brochures, thereby freeing up time resources.

Limited Application in Core Processes

Despite this widespread use in text generation, the deployment of AI in sales-critical functions remains minimal. The study shows that 85 percent of agencies limit AI use to a maximum of four tasks. This indicates a hesitant approach to integrating more complex AI solutions that go beyond simple automations.

A particularly striking detail of the study is the low proportion of only 4 percent of agencies that actively use AI in sales progression. This typically includes processes such as buyer qualification, price analysis, or the optimisation of sales strategies, where data-driven decisions could offer significant added value.

The results suggest that while the real estate sector has recognised the potential of AI in certain areas, it still has a long way to go to fully integrate the technology into strategic and operationally critical processes. The focus on text creation could be interpreted as a first step towards familiarisation with the technology before more complex applications are considered.

Potentials and Future Developments

Experts see significant untapped potential in the application of AI for more advanced tasks such as predictive analytics for market development, personalised customer engagement, or the automation of due diligence processes. The current study suggests that the sector is in a transitional phase where AI adoption is gradually increasing, but a comprehensive transformation of business models has not yet occurred.
