The Jahreszeiten Bar at Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich has expanded its selection of exclusive spirits, presenting an assortment that can be considered unique in Germany. Central to this expansion is the LOUIS XIII RARE CASK 42.1 Cognac, which is now the only establishment in Germany to offer it by the glass. This edition, limited to 775 examples worldwide, is presented in a handcrafted decanter made of black Baccarat crystal. A 4 cl serving of this cognac is offered at a price of 3,700 EUR.
The LOUIS XIII RARE CASK 42.1 Cognac results from the composition of hundreds of eaux-de-vie, matured over decades in a tierçon selected by the Cellar Master. Its flavour profile is characterised by floral and powdery nuances such as rose and peony, as well as fresh, exotic notes of passionfruit and mango.
Exquisite additions to the range
In addition to the cognac, other high-quality spirits have been integrated into the selection. These include the Macallan M Decanter Copper Edition 2024. This Scotch, matured in sherry oak casks and presented in a Lalique crystal decanter, is offered for 1,150 EUR per 4 cl. Furthermore, the Dalmore 35 Years is available, its complexity resulting from maturation in ex-bourbon, Matusalem sherry, and Colheita port casks. A 4 cl portion of this whisky costs 1,500 EUR.
The spectrum is complemented by rarities such as the Yamazaki 25 Years, matured in Oloroso sherry casks, at a price of 1,300 EUR per 4 cl. Another component of the selection is the Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year Family Reserve Bourbon Whiskey, which is distinguished by the use of wheat instead of rye and is served for 1,200 EUR per 4 cl. For Champagne connoisseurs, a bottle of Krug Grande Clos d'Ambonnay 1996 is also available, a single-varietal Pinot Noir produced in a limited edition worldwide and offered for 6,850 EUR per bottle.
Significance for the Munich location
The inclusion of these spirits in the Jahreszeiten Bar's offerings underscores Munich's position as a location for first-class hospitality and gastronomy. The opportunity to consume such exclusive products by the glass is aimed at an international audience with corresponding preferences. It establishes the Jahreszeiten Bar as a benchmark in the luxury gastronomy segment, particularly for connoisseurs of rare distillates and wines.
