The development of a new health centre in Korneuburg is taking shape, and it will substantially complement the existing medical infrastructure of the region from spring 2027. The “Spectraforum” project, initiated by Dr. Reinhard and Dr. Bernhard Angermann, responds to a growing demand for modern healthcare services. Covering an area of almost 1,500 square metres, located behind the Korneuburg West Pharmacy, a multifunctional centre will be created. Besides ophthalmological care, it will also provide space for expanded diagnostics, surgical procedures and the establishment of further specialist disciplines.
The concept of “Spectraforum” extends beyond the format of a conventional medical practice. The two doctors responsible for the project aim to consolidate different medical expertise in one place, thereby creating synergies. This stems from years of observations in daily practice regarding increasing demand and the desire for networked healthcare. Interested healthcare providers currently still have the option to participate in the planning and use of the remaining premises.
The necessity for the new building arises from the capacity limits of the practice in Bisamberger Straße, which has been in operation since 2022. With the commissioning of “Spectraforum”, an increase in treatment capacity of up to 100 percent is expected. In parallel, an expansion of the team from currently 15 to approximately 20 employees is planned. Dr. Reinhard Angermann emphasised the relevance of adequate capacities and modern structures in ophthalmological care to effectively implement preventive measures. Dr. Bernhard Angermann added that the increasing demand in acute care, prevention and specialised areas, as well as the growing differentiation of medicine, requires more space and personnel.
- —Preventive examinations
- —Retinal diagnostics and emergency care
- —Cataract operations (grey cataract) and eyelid surgery
- —Early detection of macular diseases and paediatric ophthalmology
In addition to the services already mentioned, the medical spectrum of “Spectraforum” will also include preventive examinations, retinal diagnostics and emergency care. Cataract operations and eyelid surgery procedures are also planned. The focus on early detection, particularly for macular diseases and in paediatric ophthalmology, will be intensified. The doctors emphasised the importance of accessibility to modern diagnostics for a wide range of patients.
The architectural concept of the new location aims to create a positive environment and includes open, light-filled rooms, spacious waiting areas and an extended children's zone. The reception area is designed as a central point of contact. One waiting area is designated for further training and information events, beyond the function of regular practice operations. These offerings are aimed at both professionals and patients who wish to actively engage with health topics.
Dr. Reinhard and Dr. Bernhard Angermann see “Spectraforum” as more than just a new building. Given demographic change and the increasing relevance of prevention and early detection, the project aims to establish a structure that guarantees high-quality medical care, efficient collaboration and sufficient time for patient care in the long term.
