MERCADEN® Böblingen has integrated a new culinary concept into its city centre retail hub with the opening of The Cookie Lab on 25 September. The new tenant specialises in the production of handmade cookies, offering a variety of flavours and fillings. This offering addresses the increased market demand for such confectionery.
The Cookie Lab's assortment includes classic varieties such as Chocolate Chip and White Chocolate, as well as premium creations like Dubai Style and Red Velvet. In addition to cookies, freshly prepared Açaí Bowls and Matcha creations are also available. The food offering is complemented by hot drinks such as coffee and cocoa, as well as various soft drinks.
Location and Parties Involved
The new location for The Cookie Lab is on the ground floor of MERCADEN® Böblingen. Sonae Sierra, the centre's operating company, was responsible for letting the space on behalf of the owner. This transaction is part of the strategy to strengthen the diversity of the gastronomic offering within the retail property.
Edip Özerol, Centre Manager of MERCADEN® Böblingen at Sonae Sierra, commented on the new establishment. He emphasised that The Cookie Lab represents a new culinary highlight and expands the centre's gastronomic diversity with a relevant concept. Visitors can look forward to the cookie creations during a shopping break.
Ishak Yilmaz of The Cookie Lab commented on the opening and its affiliation with MERCADEN® Böblingen. He expressed delight at being able to supply the regional clientele with their creations, highlighting the breadth of the offering from cookies to bowls and matcha drinks.
Opening Promotion and Portfolio Expansion
To celebrate the opening, a specific promotion was carried out. From 12 PM, the first 50 cookie bowls were given to attending visitors free of charge. This measure served to introduce the new offering to MERCADEN® Böblingen's clientele. The integration of The Cookie Lab is part of the centre operators' continuous efforts to optimise the user experience through a targeted expansion of the tenant mix.
