Hamburg-based logistics services provider TSIT GmbH is expanding its operational space in the Hanseatic city. The company has signed a lease agreement for around 8,600 square metres in Prologis Park HamburgSteinwerder DC1. With this step, TSIT strengthens its existing warehousing and distribution capacities at its own headquarters and creates room for the ongoing growth of its European logistics activities.
The newly acquired space in the Port of Hamburg area is earmarked for both general and specialised warehousing and distribution services. These notably include requirements for demanding goods, among others from the automotive industry and the energy sector. The direct proximity to quayside facilities and transhipment hubs benefits the service provider's cross-border flows of goods.
Transport connections and functional equipment of the site
A decisive factor in the choice of location was, among other aspects, the trimodal accessibility within the port area. The property ensures short routes to local rail freight and port terminals and at the same time allows direct access to the long-distance road network for onward road transport. This provides TSIT with operational advantages in managing international supply chains.
The existing property meets standard criteria for modern transhipment operations and provides specific structural features for flexible round-the-clock operations:
- —Clear internal height of 9.5 metres for optimised storage concepts
- —Four dock levellers and an additional ground-level hall access door
- —Energy-efficient lighting via an end-to-end LED system
- —Legal and operational permit for 24/7 use
Focus on international goods transport and advisory
Founded in Hamburg in 2003, TSIT GmbH focuses primarily on logistics flows along the corridor between China and Europe. Alongside transhipment and transport solutions for diverse product groups, the service portfolio also includes bonded warehousing. With the expansion of its site, the company consolidates its presence in one of the central hubs of European foreign trade.
The owner of the logistics facility is industrial and logistics property developer Prologis. Real estate consultancy Avison Young advised on the transaction, acting on the landlord side for Prologis.
