Kirix Vermögensverwaltung AG has appointed Dr. Marcel Rothenberger to its board of directors. Dr. Rothenberger, an economist, has been working for the company in Kassel as a portfolio manager and head of capital market analysis since January 2025.
In his expanded role, Dr. Rothenberger will continue to be responsible for individual portfolio management with a focus on equities and bonds. His duties also include leading capital market analysis and managing the Kirix funds. He stated that returns in the capital market are achieved not through activism but through patience, and announced his intention to remain true to this principle in his new role as a board member.
Academic Expertise Meets Active Management
Before joining Kirix, Dr. Rothenberger, a trained bank clerk, worked at Actieninvest AG in Zurich, where he served as a portfolio manager and a member of the management board. Prior to that, he spent several years in research and teaching.
His goal is to advance Kirix Vermögensverwaltung AG at the interface between academia and the capital market. This is to be achieved through an academic approach and the development of comprehensive investment strategies. Rolf Kieckebusch, founder and board member of Kirix Vermögensverwaltung AG, with its headquarters in Kassel and further branches in Bad Wildungen, Göttingen, and Hanover, welcomed the appointment. He highlighted that Dr. Marcel Rothenberger's addition further rejuvenates the board, and they are delighted about the combination of scientific expertise and active management that he brings to the company.
