Logistics service provider TSIT GmbH is expanding its presence in its home location, having leased around 8,600 square metres of logistics and distribution space in Prologis Park Hamburg Steinwerder DC1. With this lease, the Hamburg company is expanding its capacity in the port area to build out existing warehousing and handling structures for the European market.
TSIT GmbH was founded in Hamburg in 2003. The service provider specialises in logistics traffic between China and Europe. Alongside customs warehousing and cargo handling, its operational range of services includes bespoke transport and storage concepts for various types of goods, which will now be handled at the expanded site.
Specialised logistics for industry and energy
The newly secured property will be used to process general and specialised logistics orders. In future, products from the automotive sector and the energy industry, among others, will be stored and dispatched on the site. The space provides sufficient capacity to accommodate rising demand in these core segments in line with requirements.
The existing property taken on is designed to meet the functional demands of modern cargo processing. Key equipment and performance features of the property include:
- —A clear internal height of 9.5 metres for flexible racking systems
- —Four dock levellers and one level-access loading door for cargo handling
- —Energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the warehouse area
- —Structural and operational provision for continuous 24/7 operations
Multimodal connectivity in the Port of Hamburg area
A decisive criterion for the location decision was the trimodal infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg. The property provides direct links to freight rail terminals and quaysides, as well as to the regional and national motorway network. These short distances significantly strengthen the company's cross-border supply chains.
The owner of the property, Prologis, was advised on the letting and brokered by property consultancy Avison Young.
