Emmy-winning actress Katherine Heigl has put her custom-built Utah estate on the market for USD 10.6 million. She and her musician husband, Josh Kelley, have resided in the home for nearly two decades. The couple purchased a plot within the gated Maple Ridge Ranches community in 2007, the year they married, and constructed the mountain retreat in 2008. Initially used as a holiday home, the property became their primary residence in 2012, where they raised their three children.

Access to the estate is via a gently curving driveway, at the end of which the house, constructed from stone masonry, timber cladding, and large glass panels, harmoniously blends into the surrounding mountain landscape. A covered porte-cochère, framed by solid stone pillars, creates an imposing arrival, while manicured lawns, mature trees, and broad terraces make the approach softer.

Heigl's custom-designed home is situated on one of the community's premier plots, with almost 90 per cent of the surrounding land permanently preserved as open space. Upon entering the house, an impressive great room unfolds, featuring a steel fireplace extending almost 9 metres to the exposed timber ceiling. A mix of stone walls, steel accents, and oversized beams lends the space a modern mountain chalet feel, while a floating staircase and a second-floor gallery overlook the open-plan living area.

The opposite side of the room is defined by a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows and retractable glass doors, directing views directly onto the terrace and framing the surrounding mountain ranges. The dining area, positioned within the great room, is located beneath a cascading arrangement of glass pendant lights. A large glass-top table comfortably seats ten people, and its rearward placement in the room allows for enhanced views through the windows.

A few steps away, the recently redesigned kitchen opens into a bright gathering room, with a custom-built La Cornue range forming its centrepiece, beneath black-framed windows overlooking the countryside. Handmade cabinets envelop the space from floor to ceiling, concealing a hidden pantry behind panelled doors. At the centre stands a large marble island, extending into a built-in dining table beneath oversized woven pendant lights.

Upstairs, the primary suite is located in its own private wing, combining a spacious bedroom with a dedicated living area, a generous walk-in wardrobe, and a spa-inspired bathroom. The bedroom features high vaulted ceilings and a stone fireplace in the corner. Outdoors, the living areas are designed to fully exploit the mountain backdrop, with multiple gathering spots across the landscaped grounds.

An expansive stone terrace, extending from one of the upper rooms, stretches out from the house and over the trees. This terrace is built under exposed timber trusses with a stone fireplace to create a cosy lounge area. Below, outside the great room, is a fire pit lounge with deeply cushioned seating arranged around a square gas fire pit. Wide concrete paths lead from the upper terrace across manicured lawns to a heated rectangular pool, framed by sun loungers and planted beds. Situated away from the house, the pool creates a private, resort-like spot while preserving unobstructed views of the open landscape.
